UF neuroscientist Cara Croft, Ph.D., has been awarded a five-year Race Against Dementia fellowship supporting a collaborative project between UF and University College London.
Croft, a postdoctoral research associate in UF’s Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease and the lab of McKnight Brain Institute Director Todd Golde, M.D., Ph.D., is one of three early-career dementia researchers from the U.S. and the U.K. who will receive $620,000 grants from the foundation of three-time Formula 1 world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.
Under the fellowship, Croft will explore how genetic risk factors contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s disease and whether genetic pathways could be used as drug targets.
