Research Profile

My program of research focuses on age-related changes in cognition and the neurophysiological processes that underlie these changes. In service of this focus, I conduct research that integrates factors known to accelerate aging, including heavy alcohol use and HIV. To explore the relationship between cognition and the brain during aging, my research utilizes neuroimaging (i.e., magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS)) and neuromodulation (i.e., non-invasive transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS)).
