Dr. Karina Alviña Quoted in National Geographic Article on the Importance of Exercise for a Healthy Brain

The June 2022 edition of National Geographic includes an article entitled “New clues are revealing why exercise can keep the brain healthy.” Amongst the experts interviewed for the topic are Dr. Karina Alviña, research assistant professor in the Department of Neuroscience and The Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory. The consensus in the article is the regular exercise helps keep brains healthy as we age. The exercise doesn’t need to be intense, but the more consistent, the better. As Dr. Alviña points out in the article, any exercise is beneficial…so get moving!
