Most research on what effects cannabis has on the brain deals adolescents and a younger population. Drs. Bizon and Setlow discuss their research which focuses on cannabis’ impact on age-related cognitive function. Early results through studies working with rats show that cannabis may be beneficial to fighting or slowing cognitive decline. It is important to note that these results have not yet been established in humans, but the research brings up some intriguing questions about the link between cannabis and cognitive health.
