Aprinda Indahlastari, Ph.D., a postdoctoral associate in the University of Florida’s Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory, is the latest investigator to be featured in MBI Rising Stars, a video series highlighting up-and-coming neuroscience researchers at the UF.
Working in the lab of Adam Woods, Ph.D., Indahlastari is studying a technique aimed at improving cognitive function that involves the use of a noninvasive form of brain stimulation paired with cognitive training in adults 65 and older.
The Woods lab is investigating the use of transcranial direct current stimulation, or tDCS, in combination with cognitive training to potentially postpone or compensate for the normal decline in thinking and memory skills that occurs with advanced age. Indahlastari is developing multimodal neuroimaging and computational models to analyze data collected from human clinical trial participants.
The recipient of a Trainee Enhancement Opportunity award from UF’s McKnight Brain Institute, Indahlastari has sought additional training in functional MRI at courses in Boston and Philadelphia to further refine and advance her modeling work.
