Ted Turner has Lewy body dementia, but what is that?

MA2Following Ted Turner’s recent announcement that he’s battling Lewy body dementia, or LBD, Melissa Armstrong, M.D., M.Sc., director of the Mangurian Clinical-Research Center for Lewy Body and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia at the Fixel Center for Neurological Diseases at UF Health, published an article in The Conversation explaining the disease, its diagnosis and research surrounding it.

The disease is frequently unrecognized even by doctors, despite the fact that Lewy body dementia is the second most common dementia, Armstrong explains.
